South Korean Giant Buys Into Oil Sands

Korean National Oil Company, a State-owned company, paid $1.8-billion to get a foothold in Alberta's oil sands. The takeover, which must be approved by stakeholders, is expected to double the company's oil output. This is the most recent in what may be a string of takeovers by Asian energy giants of Alberta oil companies.
