Oil Sands Production to Triple by 2020: Feds

Production from the Alberta oil sands is expected to triple over the next 15 years, according to a report issued by the Canadian federal government, as reported by Reuters October 3rd 2006.

By the year 2020, oil sands production is predicted to reach 2.9 million barrels a day. The report also predicts that by that date, 80 percent of Canadian crude oil production will be from the oil sands.
